Description

Putting my 1976 Traveler on the market. This is my daily driver that I've owned for two years now. Has a rebuilt 1970 345 with a 1970 Holley 2300 2 bbl. Cruises at 70 all day long. 3:07 gears, Dana axles and all new fluids 12K miles ago. But she still needs lotsa stupid stuff done to her but I would not hesitate driving her to Cabo tomorrow. Wiring needs fine-tuning, matching set of new front springs should be installed (left front is sagging an inch lower than the r/f)., starter gear has some worn teeth, a couple dash gauges need work, NSS/B/U light switch needs to be wired up, some 6x9 speaker grilles should be installed over the front speakers (that are set in the front of the seat bases) and some other stuff that I'll try to post up here soon.
As far as equipment and repairs I've done to her in the past 2 years/12K miles, here we go;
1). Rebuilt '70 345 V-8 installed.
2). Rebuilt Holley 2300 2 bbl carb w/Mister Gasket air filter housing.
3). Newer front brake pads and new hub/rotor on front right.
4). New diff oil/t-case oil.
5). Older Alpine with four speakers.
6). New wiper blades,
7). Has a Scout tailgate (that you use when you take off the Traveler fiberglass top).
8). One 14 blade & one one 10 blade AGC fuse blocks.
9). 31x 10.5 x 15 tires have about 25/35k miles left on them.
10). Oil changes done every 2500 miles, including ZDDP zinc additive.
11). Chrome rims still look pretty decent.
12). BF Goodrich A/T spare on stock steel rim.
13). Battery swapped over to the other side of the engine room.
14). Ford style starter solenoid installed.
15). Original skinny battery cables replaced with 1/0's.
16). Perko marine battery kill switch installed in glove compartment.
17). I've got & kept a log book on just about everything I've done on this girl since October of 2012.
18).In the glove box (in lieu of the usual glove box liner) there is thePerko two-way battery switch, the second 14 terminal fuse block and aP/A system with mike and about 12 different silly pre-programmed noisesand effects that it makes (cats, chickens, horses, pigs, sirens, hornset al). The exterior speaker for this is in the engine room, next to thethe brake booster.
19). I have most of the pieces of a roll barthat came out of a Scout that will come with this sale. You'll just needto semi-customize it and add a couple pieces of 2" x 18" long steeltubing to make up for the extra length that the Travelers have.
20).The cooling system includes the Prestone back flush tee and such. I'llalso kick in the accessories that go with this---great way to back flushthe system, and I've probably installed two dozen of these things on myvarious vehicles over the years.
21). Though I don't have the a/ccompressor for this, the hoses are there and I also have the entireunder-dash unit that fits these trucks. I'm including that also in thisauction.
22). I've got a couple of small boxes of misc. parts that I'll include also. Just can't recall what exactly is in them.
23).The intake mani on this is a later '70's so it has the EGR mountingspace for it, and I actually have a working EGR valve installed on theit right now----but it's not hooked up. No need to out here in my cornerof Arizona.
24). The Warn locking hubs have been cleaned and lubed recently.
25).Out here at 4600' elevation I'm only pulling 13" of vacuum at idle. Butat the beach in February when I left I was pulling 18.5. The older guyssuggest that these Holley's need to be re-jetted after 4000 feet----butI never did it.
26). This girl still has the original 19 gallonfuel tank and I've been averaging almost exactly 10 mpg's in the past 18months )according to my gas log book). So plan your trips accordingly.
27).The top was completely sanded down about 14 months ago, primed threetimes then finished off with three coats of gloss Rustoleum black. Itstill looks real decent as does the interior headliner. And the kindawimpy yet very functional roof rack is still thru-bolted to it and willalso be included in this sale.
28). The lift hatch will nee to berewired up and I have various parts for the thumb latch and lock. Thegas struts are strong and work fine.
29). This girl will NOT pass Kali smog in it's current state (though I think I have all the parts to be able to do so). Please bid accordingly.
